Wish a Happy Lohri with Homemade Gur Ki Gajak

Lohri’s  celebration is almost here. A bonfire with loved ones is the key to celebrating this happy festival, but don't forget the role of pounding food. The constant nibbling of peanuts, dates, rice puff and other lip-smacking tits-bits. 


One of the most favourite and popular is Gur Ki Gajak. Gajak is usually made on the occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti. Apart from the festival this easy-to-make dessert can be enjoyed for parties, picnics and game nights, best enjoyed in winters and is very healthy.


This dish can be served as a dessert and is also a delicacy that helps with digestion after a heavy meal. The delicious combination of crunchy ghoul bars and crunchy peanuts is irresistible and leaves you wanting more.

500 grams Praakritik Organic Jaggery Powder - 500g

4 cup raw Conscious food Peanuts 500g - Foods :: Dry Fruits & Seeds

6 tablespoon Jivika Naturals Desi A2 Cow Bilona Ghee - 1 L


For Seasoning

6 tablespoon fennel seeds




Step 1 : Melt Gur In Ghee

Heat ghee in a non-stick pan over medium flame. To give an authentic taste to this recipe use Desi A2 Cow Bilona Ghee - 1 L


Add jaggery powder to it and lower the flame. Allow it to melt and turn golden. Once done, add the fennel seeds (saunf) and mix it well.


Step 2 :  Roast Peanuts In Ghee

Take another pan and add some ghee and roast the peanuts in it. Once they are done, add roasted peanuts to the Gur mix and mix it well. Cook at low flame.


Step 3 : Spread The Gur On A Glazed Sheet

Spread a foil sheet on a flat and sprinkle some ghee on it. Now, transfer the Gur mix on a glazed sheet and spread it across.


Step 4 :  Break Into Pieces And Serve Fresh

Let it cool down. As it cools down it will keep getting hard. Serve this by breaking it into small pieces and enjoy.
